Discuss function, symptoms, and treatment goals
Eyelid surgery may be considered for cosmetic concerns or for conditions affecting function. Excess upper eyelid skin and other eyelid abnormalities can prompt an evaluation of how the eyelids affect vision or comfort.
A consultation is the appropriate place to discuss your concerns and whether a procedure is being considered for functional, reconstructive, or cosmetic reasons.
Coverage is an individual question
Insurance coverage depends on your plan, the proposed procedure, documentation, and the insurer’s requirements. A recommendation for surgery does not guarantee approval or payment. Cosmetic procedures may not be covered.
Ask the practice and your insurer about the information needed to review coverage and any out-of-pocket costs. Do not assume coverage based on symptoms or website information alone.
Arrange an evaluation

Information is educational and does not replace an individual evaluation. Discuss treatment options, limitations, preparation, and recovery with your clinician.
